The Kildow Block, ocated at 52, 54, 56 E. Perry St., Tiffin, OH, is a three-story commercial structure erected from 10/26/1897 thru 10/28/1898 for William H. Kildow.  

Initially W.H. Kildow utilized the building for his wholesale confections and tobacco cigar factory. 

Circa 1900 to 1924, the middle third of the building was occupied by the Toledo, Fostoria & Findlay Railway Company for offices.  The railway company further used this space for a passenger station in the 1930s.  W.K. Smith, a medicine manufacturer, was in the western third by 1906 until 1909.  The Wells Fargo Company shared the same portion with B.F. Smaltz’ floral store in 1915.  Ohio Power Company was located here in 1924.  

Singer sewing Machine was located here in 1936 to approximately 1946. The Boss Manufacturing Company, which produced gloves, operated there in 1946.  

The property is listed as vacant in 1940 when Harry Kallman opened a wine store which later became a part of W.H. Kildow & Co. The eastern third of the building was listed as the address of the W.H. Kildow cigar manufacturing.  In 1946 they added the wholesale confectionary and would combine these and by 1950, The W.H. Kildow Company occupied the entirety of the building for wholesale confections and tobacco cigar factory which operated out of this location until the early 1970s.   

The building was listed as vacant in 1975.  The building was purchased and operated as Blair’s Attic (antiques store) in 1985.  In 1996 the building was purchased and operated as The Antique Warehouse until the end of 2024.  

The Historic Kildow, LLC purchased the building in 2023 and are beginning rehabilitation to maintain the significant historic integrity of the contributing property in the National Register-listed Downtown Tiffin Historic District.
